Videos: 2011 Osheaga Music Festival : Day 3 ( Sunday )

Posted on August 1, 2011 |

For this 6th edition (and first 3-day affair), I was only able to attend the last day.
There was a snafu with my media accreditation application (try saying that fast 3 times) but kind lady in charge of these things was able to let me in yesterday so big ups to her.

Highlights for me were Cypress Hill who brought their old school latino hip hop vibe to the River Stage starting at 4:20pm (clever) and brought out all the jams from the early 90’s.

Shad, our premier Canuck hip hopper, schooled us with a short but very sweet set of cuts from his Juno Award winning album 2010’s “TSOL”. A guest appearance by Dallas Green a.k.a. City And Colour on their duet “Live Together” was a pretty sweet surprise.

The Joy Formidable
@ the Tree Stage (loving the new location this year) brought the energy and intensity WAY up, lead singer Ritzy had the crazy eyes again which I’ve witnessed on many occasions in the 5 or 6 shows I’ve seen them do in the last year.

The Flaming Lips, closing out the festival performing their classic late 90’s album
“The Soft Bulletin” in it’s entirety brought the usual confetti canons, HUGE ass balloons and Wayne Coyne walking in the audience in his own special plastic bubble was a nice way to wrap it all up.

The man even officiated a wedding on stage! An Osheaga first.

3 days = 80 000 people. A new record.

The 7th edition will be held next year from August 3rd to 5th.

Here be the few videos I was able to shoot.
