Release Date : June 15, 2012
Synopsis :
First time documentarist Ice-T shows us how rap music has grown to dominate cultures around the world, showing how rap evolved and how it continues to be part of the mainstream culture.
A whole movie that embraces the craft involved with rap and the whole hip hop
scene I’m down for.
I’ve seen my fair share of hip hop docs over the years but never from someone
who actually lived through it i.e. Ice-T, the original gangster.
This is just Ice, sharing some knowledge to the youth outthere today about
the roots of hip hop, where it all came from. None of that whack shit you hear
on top 40 radio today minus a few who keeps it realz.
The list of Hip Hoppers giving interviews, letting you in on their craft includes:
Afrika Bambaataa, Big Daddy Kane, B-Real, Bun B, Chino XL, Common, DJ Premier, DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Grandmaster Caz, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Immortal Technique, Joe Budden, Kanye West, Kool Keith, KRS-One, Lord Finesse, Lord Jamar, Marley Marl, MC Lyte, Melle Mel, Nas, Puerto Rico, Q-Tip, Raekwon, Rakim, Ras Kass and many more.
