2013 Osheaga Music Festival ( Lineup Announced )

Posted on | March 13, 2013 | No Comments

While my fellow bloggers and all-around music loving nerds are spending spring
break in good ‘ol Austin, Texas for South By Southwest this week, some of us left
behind in the cold, slushy weather are likely seething with jealousy.

To warm us over and give us something to look forward to, the good people at
Osheaga released (after a week’s worth of not so cryptic clues on Twitter)
the lineup for the 8th edition of this now coveted summer music festival.

Staged @ the marvelous Parc Jean-Drapeau from August 2rd to the 4th.

Let me break it down for you:

The headliners

The Cure
Mumford & Sons
Phoenix

One level down

New Order
Vampire Weekend
Hot Chip
Big Boi
Explosions In The Sky
Beach House
Jimmy Eat World
Silversun Pickups

Our fellow Canucks

Hollerado
Diamond Rings
Hannah Georgas
A Tribe Called Red
Tegan and Sara
Misteur Valaire
We Are Wolves
Xavier Cafeine

The newbies

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
The Lumineers
Kendrick Lamar
Father John Misty
Alt-J
Azealia Banks
Baauer
Angel Haze
Death Grips
Icona Pop
Wild Nothing
DIIV
MNDR
Guards
Jesse Ware

The rest

Flogging Molly, Gaslight Anthem, Ben Howard, Ellie Goulding, Pretty
Lights, Imagine Dragons, Two Door Cinema Club, Porter Robinson,
Tommy Trash, Disclosure, Yelawolf, Lou Doillon, Gramatik,
Frightened Rabbit, Grouplove, The Heavy, Holy Ghost!, Jake Bugg,
Style Of Eye, The Head and The Heart, Jets, Frank Turner,
The Neighborhood, Atlas Genius, The Knocks, Rone, Floating Points,
Oberhofer, Carnage, Wild Belle, Jackmaster, Amtrac, Shovels and Rope,
Capital Cities, EC Twins, Kidnap Kid, Hyphen Hyphen, Loud Larry Ajust Dusted, Ponctuation, Lucy Rose, Nightbox, Doezenne, Humans.

The 80s will be alive and well with The Cure and New Order as the headliners.

That’s quality booking right there.

Frenchies Phoenix will take that third headlining spot.

You got your chart topping artists like Mumford & Sons to bring in the top 40 crowd and I, for one, will get my hip hop on with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Azelia Banks and Big Boi.

That is, of course, just the tip of the musical iceberg.

More will be announced soon so I would suggest you stay in the know through their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

3 day Passes, single day tickets and VIP passes will go onsale this Friday, March 15th @ Noon. — > TICKETS
